What is Stavax ESR?
Stavax ESR is a premium stainless mould steel for small and medium inserts and cores. Stavax ESR combines corrosion and wear resistance with excellent polishability, good machinability and stability in hardening.
Will Stavax rust?
A tool made from Uddeholm Stavax ESR will have good resistance to rusting and staining due to humid working and storage conditions and when moulding corrosive plastics under normal production conditions.
What is ramax steel?

What is P20 material?
P20 tool steels are nitrided or carburized. These steels are capable of being machined into complex and large dies and molds. P20 steels are mostly used in the carburized condition. The presence of chromium and nickel enhances the toughness and hardness of P20 steels.
What is H13 material?
H13 is a hot work tool steel that has good resistance to thermal fatigue, erosion and wear, and is widely used for making molds and dies. The H13 powder used for laser consolidation contains 0.42% C, 5.04% Cr, 1.33% Mo, 1.06% V, and 0.88% Si.

Can you harden P20 steel?
P20 is delivered in the hardened condition so hardening and tempering in not generally required or recommended. After finish machining, P20 may be conventionally nitrided to give a hard, abrasion resistant skin to a depth of up to 0.40mm. This steel is suitable for local flame or induction hardening to 50/55 HRc.
Can you weld P20 steel?
However, tools and molds made from ExELL P20M and similar alloy types exhibit good weldability because of lower carbon and alloy contents. TIG welding can be performed using a regular SMAW power source provided this source is equipped with a TIG control unit.
