What are DRcaps made of?

DRcaps were launched at the 2011 Expo West show in Anaheim, and are made from hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC).
What are acid resistant capsules?
Acid resistant capsules have special formulations and ingredients that delay the release of the capsule content. The capsules have enteric coatings that will not dissolve in the stomach juices. The delayed release properties are as a result of exclusive formulations of: Proprietary polymers.
What is HPMC capsule?
HPMC capsules incorporate a gelling agent to achieve enteric properties, allowing for the protection of sensitive ingredients from the acidic environment of the stomach and complete dissolution in the intestine. HPMC-based capsules can also play a role in addressing poor bioavailability.
What are capsule sizes?
“000” holds about 1000 mg., “00” holds about 735 mg., “0” size holds about 500 mg., #1 holds about 400 mg., #3 about 200 mg. One teaspoon will fill about 7 “0” capsules and about 5 “00” capsules. The weight depends on the density of the powder you are using.
Are capsules slow release?
Pills and capsules may release their contents within minutes of ingestion; these are immediate-release formulations. Pills and capsules may also release their contents after a time lag, or a little at a time, or in some other predetermined way; these are time-release formulations.
Is gelatin acid resistant?
The mass ratio of the acid-resistant component to gelatin was 1:3. The compositions contained glycerol as a plasticizer, in an amount of 0.46 per 1 g of total polymer amount.
Do stomach gelatin capsules dissolve?
A standard gelatin hard capsule dissolves in the stomach, under normal conditions, within twenty to thirty minutes after swallowing. Some gelatin types dissolve faster than others when they are in contact with acidic fluids and higher temperatures (stomach conditions).
What hypromellose used for?
Hypromellose is used as artificial tears to prevent damage to the cornea in patients with keratoconjunctivitis sicca accompanying rheumatoid arthritis, xerophthalmias or keratitis or during gonioscopy procedures. It is also used to moisten hard contact lenses and to lubricate artificial eyes.
What is difference between capsule and tablet?
A tablet is in the form of flat tablets and a capsule is almost cylindrical. Tablets can be cut into two, whereas capsules cannot be cut into two. A capsule consists of powder or jelly enclosed in a dissolvable gelatin container. A tablet is a compressed powder in solid form.
