Tau Alpha (1912 – 1915) Greek Letter fraternity. Their name Tau Alpha means “A life of Leadership”, it is a literal translation from their ancient Greek Symbols. The Greek “alpha” symbol was derived from the Phoenician and Hebrew letter “aleph” meaning leader.

Is Ato a religious frat?
ATO welcomes men of all faiths into the Brotherhood. However, the Fraternity cannot ignore or try to hide its founders’ deeply held beliefs that “Jesus Christ is the Way the Truth and the Life.”
Why was Ato kicked off FSU?
They were affiliated with the former Epsilon Sigma Chapter of ATO Fraternity, which ceased to be recognized by FSU in Spring 2020 and the national organization due to repeated incidents of hazing, physical violence and sexual harassment according to their Interfraternity Council (IFC) Scorecard.
How long is Ato pledging?
An individual may only become an active member by participating in a pledge program of no less than eight weeks, and participating in an initiation process as prescribed in ARTICLE IV of these bylaws.
