Although it’s well-known for being heartbreaking, there are many romance anime that’ll deliver the same saddening experience.

What was Nagisa illness?
Nagisa had been sick with a fever, but because Akio and Sanae were unable to get time off from work, they left her home alone. When Akio came back to check on her, he’d found her collapsed outside in the snow, as she had attempted to go outside to wait for her parents to come home.
Why does Ushio go to the hospital?
Hikarizaka General Hospital (光坂総合病院, Hikarizaka Sōgōbyōin?) is a hospital built over the meadow where Akio prayed for Nagisa’s life when she was ill as a child. In The End of the World, Tomoya considers sending Ushio to the Hospital after she becomes ill but decides against it as no one knows how to help her.
