If you are only interested in a couple of wethers as pets, then registration doesn’t make much difference, but if you intend to keep goats for milk, show, or breeding, then registration is important. Unregistered goats are much less expensive, but registered goats have more potential for producing income.
How much does a goat DNA test cost?
The fee of $30.00 (MEMBER) or $27.00 (ADGA PLUS MEMBER) per animal to be DNA typed must be submitted with the list. G-6-S and Alpha S-1 Casein testing have a separate fee, $25.00 (Member), $20.00 (ADGA Plus Member), $50.00 (Non-Member).
