How do you celebrate Student of the Week?
Have the child bring in (or get from the classroom library) his favorite book and place it in a large book bag. Place or hang the book bag by the Student of the Week board and encourage other students to read it throughout the week. Allow the student to explain why it is his favorite book and give a brief oral report.
What makes a star of the week?
Each week children from Reception to Year 6 are chosen by their teacher to be Star of the Week. This can be for many different reasons; good behaviour; an excellent piece of work; understanding something tricky; kindness and lots more. The children are very proud when they get Star of the Week.
What is student of the Day?
In a nutshell, it’s an award given out at the end of the day to a student for some notweworthy behavior. During the recognition process, the student is given both a small certificate–which goes home to the folks–and a trophy–which sits on his desk the next day.
