Is NLB open on public holidays?
Closed on public holidays. Patrons who visit our facilities must observe the Ministry of Health’s advisories such as the check in and check out with Trace Together, compulsory wearing of mask, and safe distancing measures.
Is National Library open for studying?
Exhibition areas such as The News Gallery on Level 11 are open. The Study Lounge on Level 5 is open with reduced capacity.
Are NLB book drop 24 hours?
All books returned to libraries to be set aside for 24 hours before going back on the shelves: NLB.
How do I borrow an NLB eBook?
Enter your NLB myLibrary username and Password to sign in. Upon a successful login, you will be able to browse, search and download the eBook of your choice. Simply click on the book cover of the selected title to go to the title’s details page. If the title is available, click “Borrow”.

How do I return a library book in Singapore?
The books must be returned to any NLB public library via the Bookdrop by the due date. (Note that there will be charges for overdue and lost books. See the rates at )
What are the opening hours of the libraries in Singapore?
The National Library, National Archives of Singapore Building and all public libraries will open from 10am to 9pm.
Can I book a group visit to the National Library Singapore?
There is no group booking for visits to the National Library Singapore (Lee Kong Chian Reference Library) or use of the Bloomberg Terminal and the National Archives of Singapore Building (Archives Reading Room). Each reservation is limited to one patron. Can I amend my booking?

Do I need to book a time to enter the library?
No separate booking is required for entry to the library. Three time slots will be available: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM, 1:00 PM – 4:00PM, 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Your slot will be released after a grace period of 15 minutes.
