Is MyFord touch the same as sync?
SYNC 3 systems have a 6.5” or 8” color screen. LIke the MyFord Touch systems, they’re both touchscreens. But while MyFord Touch relied on a resistive screen, SYNC 3 has a capacitive screen, more like a phone’s.
Can MyFord Touch be upgraded to sync 3?
The SYNC 3 system has unique hardware and software systems. However, you cannot upgrade between SYNC hardware versions. This means that if your vehicle has SYNC 1 or 2 (MyFord Touch) then you are not eligible to upgrade to SYNC 3.
Why did Ford discontinue Sync 3?
One of the reasons for this to happen is that the competition is priced at a lower point while offering similar or better features. Ford recognised that and reworked the features being offered with the EcoSport to reduce the price it is being sold at.
