Is IPL worse than laser?
As laser uses a stronger beam of light, you might think the IPL is safer. However laser only targets the hair follicles and unlike IPL, it doesn’t affect the surrounding skin tissue. IPL is not as strong as laser so will need more sessions. This puts your skin under more stress and it will spend more time healing.
Can IPL cause more hair growth?
The official term for increased hair growth resulting from laser hair removal is paradoxical hypertrichosis. Laser and IPL can have the opposite effect, especially on your face, causing rebound growth in hormonal areas such as the sides of face, neck, chin and breasts.
Does IPL destroy the hair follicle?
Once you undergo an IPL treatment, you should know that your hair won’t be gone immediately. While this treatment does destroy the hair follicle, the hair shaft still needs to shed. This process typically takes about two weeks.
