Is IMSA hard to get into?
Admission to IMSA is determined by a competitive process in which all applicants are required to submit a specific set of materials (listed below). Although the process is highly competitive, there are no minimum scores required to apply.
Do you have to live at IMSA?
At IMSA, all of our students live with roommates. We do not have any single rooms. Incoming sophomores can request a specific roommate if they know someone else attending IMSA.
What is IMSA Acceptance rate?
IMSA is not required to have, and does not have, any policy or guidelines for the number of applicants who can be admitted from any particular school. In the past five years, IMSA has admitted students from 37 percent (403 of 1,094) of Illinois schools serving 9th graders in 1998.

In order to promote collaborative exploration and discovery, the Academy does not provide grade point averages or class averages. of IMSA Faculty have a PhD. 100% have a Master’s Degree.
