How much does a Sea Cadet uniform cost?
The uniforms you will wear during your Sea Cadet career are a necessary part of your membership. The initial uniform charges will be no more than you would spend for Boy/Girl Scouts, Baseball or other uniforms for participation in other activities. A full initial compliment of uniforms costs the Unit over $450.00.
What age can you start Sea Cadets?
When can you join? You can join as a Junior Cadet when you are 10, and enjoy summer camps and making new friends as you head towards becoming a Sea Cadet at 12, or Royal Marines Cadet at 13.
How do you become a Sea Cadet?

- Step 2: Contact Us to Attend an Orientation Meeting with the Commanding Officer.
- Step 3: Complete the Application.
- Step 4: Turn in paperwork and enrollment fees.

How often do Sea Cadets meet?
Cadet units typically meet one weekend per month or one night per week during the school year. Training away from home is conducted during school vacation periods.
What do sea cadets do?
diving, not forgetting adventure and expedition training, rock climbing, shooting, drill and piping, music, meteorology, and even cookery! As part of the Sea Cadets, Royal Marines Cadets get to do all the exciting waterborne activities as well as branching off into serious adventurous training too.
What do junior cadets do?
The Junior Explorers program offers the following classroom topics: legal awareness, drug & gang awareness, leadership & team building activities, and homework assistance. The program includes physical fitness and military drills to improve self confidence, eating habits, self-esteem, leadership, and respect.
What does a sea cadet do?
Sea Cadets is the UK’s largest maritime youth charity, established in 1856 and working in over 400 units with 14,000 cadets aged between 10 and 18. Cadets learn life skills like leadership and team working through nautical adventure activities, and can earn extra qualifications which give youngsters a head start.
