How long is a TTC speed awareness course?

The course duration is 2hours 45minutes, including the signing in process and a 10-minute break during the session. Delegates will be able to see, talk to and message the trainer live.

This takes a few minutes and they ask you questions as a group, such as “Why are you on this speed aware course?” and “Do you think you were speeding?” or “Do you think your speed was appropriate for the road/conditions?” to which the answers are “because I don’t want points”, “no” and “not really”.

A virtual speed awareness course session is usually two and a half hours long with a 10-minute break in-between. You’ll be sent instructions on how to join using a secure link and attend the online sessions. In case you’re unable to attend the course, you can usually reschedule your booking.

Who can attend a National Speed Awareness Course?
Anyone who has been referred by the police to attend a National Speed Awareness Course. The interactive workshop is relaxed and informative and facilitated by a licenced NDORS (National Driver Offender Retraining Scheme) trainer. There is no police involvement. You must arrive on time for registration.
Why have face-to-face Driver Awareness courses been suspended?
All face-to-face driver awareness courses were suspended on the 19th March 2020 as a result of guidance from UKROEd. This organisation oversees all police-referred driver offender retraining courses in the UK.
