Why are rockets expensive?
The hardware cost is mostly skilled labour in making parts and assembling and testing them, but also a hefty share of the costs (aerospace engineers & test hardware) it took to develop the rocket design. The more times a rocket design is launched, the smaller a share of development costs it has to bear.
