How do you use Aquacel?
Ensure the skin around the wound edge is clean and dry. Apply AQUACEL® Ag+ dressing directly to the wound. Ensure the dressing overlaps the wound edges by at least 1cm, cut if needed. Cleanse your wound with clean water or specific wound cleansing product if advised by your healthcare professional.

How long can you leave Aquacel AG on a wound?
The dressing can be left in place for up to seven days subject to regular clinical assessment and local dressing protocol. All wounds/incisions should be monitored frequently. Remove AQUACEL® Ag SURGICAL Dressing when clinically indicated (i.e., leakage, excessive bleeding, suspicion of infection or at seven days).
Can you cut Aquacel dressings?
In AQUACEL® Hydrofiber® Wound Dressing clinical trials in second-degree burns, this was, however, not shown to have any effect on the range of motion after healing was complete. The ribbon dressing can be cut, if required prior to use, across the narrower dimension of the ribbon.
How do you apply Aquacel extra?
Apply dry Aquacel Extra sheet directly on the wound bed. If using multiple sheets, ensure overlapping by at least 1 cm on all sheet edges. Aquacel Extra may be layered for highly exudating wounds. For packing: lightly pack one piece (where possible) of ribbon into cavity, undermining or sinus tract.
Is Aquacel extra adhesive?

How often should Aquacel be changed?

What is the best way to treat aquacel AG?
The Aquacel Ag should be covered with sterile gauze and secured with medical tape or a retention bandage. Remove the gauze cover dressing periodically and inspect the Aquacel Ag while it remains in place on the burn.
Who should not use aquacel?
Do not use Aquacel if you are sensitive or allergic to sodium carboxymethylcellulose. Aquacel is a sterile dressing used to cover acute and chronic wounds that are excreting pus or other fluids. The dressing is used on ulcers, graft sites and lesions that would benefit from staying moist.
