The score for winning a single event is equal to the total number of athletes in that field and counted down by place of finish. For example, in a field of 20 athletes the scoring would be: 1st place = 20 points 2nd place = 19 points 3rd place = 18 points 4th place = 17 points 5th place = 16 points . . . and so on.
