Does Angelus paint need a finisher?
All of our paints are ready to be applied to any common shoe material without needing to worry about cracking, peeling, or any other damage. However, without using any duller or finishers, these paints can leave a glossy finish after drying.
What does Angelus paint finisher do?
Angelus Acrylic Finishers help protect paint from minor scratches or scrapes. Excellent for both hand-crafted work and high speed production, just apply with a sponge, rag, wool, spray gun or brush and let dry. No buffing needed and it cleans up with soap and water.
Do you need a finisher after painting shoes?
Preservation. Applying 1-2 thin layers of finisher will protect your artwork and make them scuff resistant. We recommend you use brush-on finisher over a spray because you have more control and guaranteed coverage of every area.
Does Angelus leather paint last?

- Is your leather paint coat dry? Make sure this step is complete as it is very important.
- Apply the finisher on your painted leather. You can either use an airbrush or a paint brush, whatever holds your preference.
- Apply a coat to the leather paint and let it dry!
What does matte finisher do?
Matte finishes absorb light rather than reflect it. This means they will hide bumps and other little flaws in your walls rather well. These type of finishes are not very durable, but they make for rather easy touch up jobs. Experts recommend matte finishes for bedrooms and studies.
What does leather finisher do?
Leather projects that need protection from moisture and sun exposure will need a different finish. It will give you a soft gloss shine with a little buffing, and still feel and look like natural leather. It is safe for use over leather dye, antiques, and natural leather (do not use on Suede).
How do you keep Angelus paint from cracking?
To help prevent cracking, ensure the surface has been prepped properly using Angelus Leather Preparer & Deglazer. Aside from proper prep, applying the paint in thin coats will also help to prevent cracking.
Can you thin Angelus leather paint with water?
Angelus Leather Shoe Paint is water soluble, clean up easily, and can be thinned with water – no solvents or special equipment necessary!
How do you seal Angelus leather dye?
To prevent the dye from bleeding you can brush the article after it has dried and then use Angelus Water & Stain Repellent on top to seal it in. Some people even mix our acrylic finisher with water and airbrush it over to finalize it.
How long does it take for Angelus finisher to dry?
Make sure this step is complete as it is very important. You can let your shoes dry normally for 20 minutes. Apply a coat to the leather paint and let it dry!
