Can you use 10 volume developer bleach?
If your hair is a level 8 or 9 bleach will work with 10 volume. If it is even a level 7(dirty blonde) you will get unwanted gold or brassy results. Most on the scalp bleach is formulated to be used with 20 volume hydrogen peroxide.
Should I use 10 or 20 Developer bleach?
Use 20 Vol when you need to lift by 1-2 levels. Use 30 Vol when you need to lift by 3 levels or more. Always lift to a very pale yellow (see the picture above and also level 10 in the chart below). If there is orange in the hair after bleaching, it just means you did not bleach enough.
