Can you do the Shadow Temple before the fire temple?
Yes. I’ve done it lots of times. You can complete the Adult Saga dungeons in any order, except for the Shadow Temple which can only be entered after the Forest, Fire and Water dungeons have been beaten.
Can you beat Water Temple before Forest Temple?
It’s still a bit inconvenient for all of us, but if you don’t mind backtracking you can get the Water Medallion before the Forest Medallion, enter Water Temple before Forest Temple and even get the longshot before the bow. Longshot can be pretty handy in the Forest Temple though so it’s not all that bad.

How do I get to the Shadow Temple?
Now that you have acquired the Lens of Truth, you are ready to take on the Shadow Temple. As an Adult, play the Nocturne of Shadows to be transported to the entrance to the Shadow Temple. Walk down the stairs and stand on the pedestal. Use Din’s Fire to light all the surrounding torches at once, which will open the door to the Shadow Temple.

Sheik stops you in your path to impart more wisdom and teach you a new song: Bolero of Fire, which allows you to quickly teleport to the crater. Head down the long ladder to your left and enter the Fire Temple. The first room is pretty tame, with only two Fire Keese fluttering about.
How do you get to the next level in the temple?
Slide down the board, turn right, and climb up the chain wall to the platform above. Take out the the two Keese and jump down to the platform holding a block. Push the block down on the flame geyser, creating a makeshift elevator to transport you to the next level. Ride the block up and unlock the door to enter a new section of the temple.
